WHAT TO WEAR
CLOTHING:
When choosing wardrobe for your shoot, please bring options! Regardless of whether we are shooting one look or six, bring plenty of choices. The clothes you bring should represent the person or personality you will be portraying in the shoot, and should not merely be your favorite articles of clothing. Avoid anything too costumey, but imagine what your various personas might wear. Layers are great for headshots and add depth and texture. Blazers, vests, jackets and textured fabrics catch the light and intrigue the eye. Bring tank tops and teeshirts as base layers, but try not to rely on them for your focal point article of clothing. Vintage clothing translates well in headshots! The details and quality are timeless and lend to an air of sophistication to your photographs. To save time in the studio, please make your clothing choices prior to arrival and make sure they are in the best condition possible. You could even try the age old trick of buying nice clothes from a store with a forgiving return policy if you need to spruce up your looks- but you didnt hear that from us!
Please keep in mind headshots are intended to represent you at your best. Cameras tend to pick up details that our eyes pass over, so clean, wrinkle-free clothes are a must have. Think of your shoot as a job interview or a fashion shoot. We understand that clothing can get wrinkled in transit so the studio is equipped with a steamer and clothing rack. The better your clothes look the better you will feel.
Taking off a layer in your session and photographing just the base layer does not constitute a look change. We are happy to snag some shots in both. Please do keep in mind however, it takes time to get you in the right light and pose for that perfect shot. Sometimes the urge to get too much varity can interfere with getting it just right. Please also note that the layers shot must be a part of the original look, not a third item and we can only photograph two changes.
If you are having a hard time getting clothing inspiration, have a look around our site and grab some inspo from others. The pictures on our website are our faves and the clothing options are always a classic and work almost universally.
HOW SHOULD I PREP?
DIET:
Im sure you already treat your body like a temple *cough*, so all this will be old news. Please get plenty of rest and drink plenty of water leading up to your session. Refrain from drinking alcohol the night before or even a few days before. Alcohol can create a lot of un-needed puffiness in the face.
If you'd like to go that extra mile, there are a few tricks that really do make your shoot look that much more polished. In addition to drinking water like its going out of style, lay off the sodium. I know it sounds like advice from your great aunt Mildred, but take it from me: It makes a difference in the water weight around your jawline.
If you're feeling even more dedicated go hit that extra cardio class you have been avoiding or just go for a run or hike in Griffith. Your face bone is connected to your heart bone and exercise will make you look and feel like a damn dream.

SOME INFO IF YOU HAVE BOOKED OUR HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTISTS:
If you have booked one of the studios hair and makeup artists please arrive at your scheduled time with clean dry hair (how you would typically wear it styled) and clean moisturized skin. Our hair and makeup artists are the best in the headshot game and can achieve most anything you could want. However we are limited on time for a headshot session so here is a list of things our glam artists cannot achieve in this timeframe: Blow outs, going from fully curly hair to fully straight or vice versa, corn rows or intricate braiding, hair cuts, or weave extensions. Our hair and makeup artists can help with application and styling of wigs. For extensions, pre cut/colored clip-in extensions can be added within reason. If there is excessive styling needed, please alert us prior to your session to allow for extra time. An extra HMU fee may apply depending on time.
GET ON THE SAME PAGE WITH YOUR REPS:
If you have representation, give them a buzz and see if they have any advice for how they would like to send you out.
Please make sure your representation knows your current look and if they have opinions on your appearance that has been discussed (hair, clothing etc). We don't offer reshoots so please make sure you are on the same page with your team.
Reps will be the ones using these images and it can be handy to see if they had any specific looks they wanted you to achieve so they can best send you out.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER?
HOW TO PAY:
Jonny accepts Cash, Check, CC, or Apple Pay due at the end of your session. Please note there will be a 3% service fee for any CC or Apple Pay payments.
If you have booked one of our amazing makeup artists, they accept Cash, Venmo or Zelle. Please have one of these methods ready if you have booked glam.
HOW AND WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
We know you have been waiting a while to get into the studio. So we will get you your images no later than 48 hrs after your session. Sometimes same day! Just depends how busy the studio is. After your shoot you will receive the best of the images taken during our session. You will receive them in a ShootProof online gallery in web resolution 72DPI JPG's. Because headshots are rarely printed in the modern casting world, we deliver the images in this format to make it efficient for uploading and downloading and to be universally used on all websites both casting and personal.
HOW LONG WILL MY GALLERY BE AVAILABLE ONLINE?
Your gallery will be active for 1 month after your session so please please make sure to download all of your images as soon as you receive them to the hard drive on your computer. If you need your photos again after the gallery has expired and you haven't downloaded them... Well shame on you. Nah its fine we can get you another, but it will be $50 to reinstate that gallery.
DO I NEED RETOUCHING AND HOW LONG CAN THAT TAKE?
That is totally up to you! You have 1 retouched image included with every look you purchase, additional retouching after that is $50 per photo. We definitely recommend having your finals retouched just to make them as polished and clean as they can be. If you're just throwing them up in instagram, that's up to you. We are confident that our images will look amazing both with and without retouching.
Your retouched images can take anywhere for 7-14 days to receive back. I know this sounds like a lot but we have a very high number of retouch requests. We will try our very hardest to make that wait time as short as possible! The retouched images will receive a very light and natural beauty retouch. We are not trying to make you look perfect, we are trying to achieve the very best and freshest version of the person that will walk into a casting room.
When sending you retouches please list all detailed adjustments you would like done to the images if any. Be aware that only 2 roads of retouching will be allowed for notes on adjustments so please be as detailed as you can to avoid going over the allowed amount of retouching rounds.
Your retouched images will be sent via a Dropbox link.
Your retouched images will only be active for 24hrs after delivery so please make sure to download those from Dropbox as soon as they are delivered.
WHAT FILES TYPES COME WITH MY RETOUCHED IMAGES?
The retouched images will be delivered in both PRINT 300DPI JPG and WEB 72DPI JPG format so you are covered to use these finales wherever you may need.

Unfortunately our studio is in the Bermuda Triangle of Silverlake... Many brave souls have attempted the journey and been lost.. for at least 5 minutes resulting in the inevitable "CAN YOU SEE ME?" PARKING:
We have street parking available all around our studio. Many times right out front! If you have a lot of clothing but cannot find a spot you're more than welcome to park in front of the gate, unload your clothing and re-park on the street. Our neighborhood does have street cleaning from 12pm-2pm Wednesdays and Fridays so if you are scheduled on either of those days please make sure to check the parking signs. If we need to take a minute and move your car during the session we can totally do that.
ARRIVAL FOR YOUR SESSION:
We have been lucky enough to be very busy and have scheduled you in an appropriate time slot for the shoot you have requested. These shoots can run very close together so please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early or 5 minutes late for your shoot. If the wooden gate is closed, we are still in session. Please do not enter through the glass doors to the left of the gate, as that is a separate office. If you do arrive early - no worries! There is an Erewhon market a block and a half up Santa Monica Blvd, you can grab a treat or coffee, and sit and watch all the Angelenos go broke buying $50 tomatoes.
