FAQ:

WHY IN GODS NAME DO YOU HAVE TWO WEBSITES?

My headshot work and editorial work are so different that I think its best to keep them separate. Don't worry its all still me :)

DO YOU USE NATURAL OR STUDIO LIGHT?

I work out of a natural light studio in Silverlake so we can take our time and keep everything consistent and fun

I HAVE SENT AN EMAIL AND HAVEN'T HEARD BACK RIGHT AWAY, WHATS THE DEALIO?

Our booking manager is not a full time employee and responds to emails once a day. If you haven't heard back don't worry we'll get right back to you!

DO WE NEED TO MEET BEFORE THE SHOOT?

It is not necessary, but if you would like to I am always willing to do a meet and greet before the shoot.
We can either do a consultation in person or over the phone.
It’s very important that you get along with and enjoy the company of your photographer.
If you feel awkward or uncomfortable then it will show in your pictures.
I can’t tell you how many people I have shot that said ” My last photographer and I just didn’t get along, and I could see it in the pictures”
Its very important that you feel at ease and that you’re in good hands. Which you are ;)

WHAT CLOTHES SHOULD I WEAR?

This is very important. Your clothes are going to portray who you are and where you fit into the business.
So, before your shoot, put a lot of thought into your “type” or what you are likely to get hired for. If you haven’t already done so, ask around to acting teachers, casting directors and/or friends you trust to tell you the truth.
If you’re wearing street clothes, its going to have a much different effect than if you’re wearing a button down and tie.
Both are great but it is very important to think about your “type” before our session. My policy on clothes is the more the merrier. The more options we have than the more creative we can get with them. So if you are unsure, bring options.
PLEASE make sure your clothes are in good condition, washed and unwrinkled. Your appearance in the pictures will have a huge affect on how people respond to your headshots.
One thing I like to see in a headshot is layers. Things like jackets, scarves, over shirts and hats look great in pictures. Tee shirts although very useful for certain looks, resemble hospital smocks to me, but layers create shadows and dimensions to photos that are priceless. Check out what some of my other clients wore by visiting the HEADSHOTS Gallery, it may help give you some idea of what you want for your shoot.

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON RE SHOOTS?

Unfortunately we do not do discounted reshoots. I shoot digital which allows you to see what you’re getting
throughout the shoot so if something isn’t to your liking don’t ever be afraid to speak up in the moment, or it may be too late.
You will have the opportunity to see the images large on a monitor during your shoot so we do not offer reshoots based on hair and makeup. Please speak up during your session! We are here to help you get it right the first time.

HOW LONG WILL YOU KEEP MY PICTURES?

We will keep your images in our archive for 1 year before deleting to make room for new clients. Archiving images becomes crazy expensive so we try our best to keep your shoot as long as possible. You will receive a medium resolution download of your entire shoot for your archives as well as 300DPI JPGS with your retouched images. If you desire a full resolution download of your session that's no problem but because of the time involved in batching so many high res images we do charge $50 for that service. Just make sure to let us know if you would like that with your final download.

CAN I TAKE PICTURES WITH MY PET?

As much as we love animals please do not bring them to the studio. The studio door opens onto the street and we cannot guarantee the animals safety. If you do arrive with an animal you will not have the option to be photographed together.

DO YOU DO TRADE FOR SOCIAL POSTS IF I HAVE A LOT OF FOLLOWERS?

Never. Please please don't ask.

CAN I RESCHEDULE MY SESSION IF I HAVE A CONFLICT?

Of course you can! We totally understand that things come up. We are happy to find you another date if you have a conflict and let us know before the 72HR cut off time. However, if you have to reschedule more than once we will require another $300 deposit to book a new session. It gets very costly to rebook sessions 3, 4 or 5 times so if you do need to reschedule please make sure its for a time that you are sure you can make your apt.

I'M THINKING OF GETTING A PRESS KIT. WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE I DO?

Press kits shoots are an awesome way to stand out from the heard. This shoot was designed for actors who wanted existing art for project announcements that could go into magazines and press for promotion.  Before you consider buying this package know that so many things go into a good press shoot, and clothing is a big part of it. We strongly recommend getting a stylist to help you make cohesive and interesting editorial style outfits to go along with this shoot. Because this is an elevated photoshoot above "whats my type" we explore a more artistic side of photographing you. What magazine would this be in? Do your research! Find editorial images of celebrities that really resinate with you and make a mood board for us to go off. This package is not for those on a budget but for someone who wants to curate their image and step above the casting headshot.
